Do signs and cameras act as a farm security deterrence for crime? In our option, I believe they do. A smart thief will look around to see if anyone is around the farm. They will also look for assets to steal and if there are any cameras. Well placed signs will make that task much easier.

We are called to install camera systems on farms all over the US. Many times our products are needed because a neighbor has had issue, or they have. After the installation, we rarely hear about the any issues going forward.

To think like a crook, I would assume they would move onto another target that has not prepared for theft. A soft target that would be easy to steal assets with no evidence to show they were there.

There are many ways to provide a farm security deterrence. Well Lit farmyard, a dog, all vehicles and other assets put into shed.
